Serious crash in Walpole on Route 1

Shortly before 3 PM Detail officers from the state police were in position for traffic enforcement as a result of the Patriots game. One of detail officers reported a crash by the Pine Street traffic lights on Route 1 as a result of someone taking an illegal left turn. Fire and EMS officials responded and the Jaws of Life were needed to extricate the victims from at least 1 of the cars. The southbound side has been temporarily shut down so rescue crews could work safely and clear the scene.
