Downtown Boston water main break

Around 10:40 PM Boston police and fire officials were called to the area of State St and Washington St in the Downtown section for a large water main break. It affected several blocks in the area. There was also mention that water may have gone into the MBTA station on State St. Various agencies responded to the area to assist. N-STAR was called to kill power to buildings that may have sustained damage and MBTA inspectors were also requested to the scene to check the station and to aid in re-routing buses. Boston Police were on hand to detour traffic around the area and Boston Water & Sewer crews were called to stop the water flow & determine the cause of the break.
