Outside fire damages multi family home in Lowell

Just before 3:30 this afternoon Lowell fire fighters responded to reports of a structure fire on Ames Place. Companies arrived and found an outside fire extending into a 2 story 40X50  multi family home. This area is a tight knit area of one way streets and dead ends and made getting to the scene fairly difficult. Within 30 minutes the fire was knocked down and companies began the overhaul process. There was also smoke and water damage to a similar structure on Butnam Place as a result.
