Serious accident injures infant on Route 3 in Weymouth

Around 7:30 PM Fire and police officials responded to reports of a serious accident involving a vehicle that went into the median. Upon arrival first responders discovered they had two victims trapped in the wreckage. 1 adult and 1 infant. It was reported by radio transmissions from the scene that both were in traumatic arrest and that CPR was in progress on at least 1 of the victims. Both victims were transported by ground to area hospitals while state police accident reconstruction specialists went over the scene to try and determine the events leading to the crash. It is unknown at this time of the victims ages or identities.

Updated: A little late on the update but worthy of being noted; the infant involved did pass away at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation remains under investigation by the state police
