Shortly after 11:30 last night Revere Police and Fire departments responded to reports of a collision on the American Legion Highway (Route 60) by Revere St. The Jaws of Life were used to extricate 1 victim from the wreckage and he was transported by ambulance to a Boston Hospital for treatment. Due to the nature of the injuries, RPD incident commander at the scene requested the State Police CPAC team to the scene for the investigation. The westbound side of the roadway was subsequently closed for the purposes of crash response and investigation. The identity of the victim has been withheld. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
Update: 4 victims were transported to area hospitals. Investigation as of this date is still on-going into the facts and circumstances surrounding the crash. State police are also seeking any witnesses to contact them.
