Boston fire gets morning work in Dorchester

Around 9:15 this morning Boston fire officials received reports of a house fire on Maxwell Street in the Dorchester section of the city. The box was struck and within 3 minutes Car 8 made the turn and reported smoke showing from 101 Maxwell St; a triple decker with a mansard roof. Fire was pouring out of the top floor of the structure and quickly broke through the roof. Deputy Chief Bill Goglia ordered the second alarm due to conditions and additional companies went en route.

At 9:40 AM command was reporting the bulk of the heavy fire was knocked down and overhaul was underway. No injuries have been reported at this time. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
