Medford MA: Jewelry store robbery

Around 11:40 this morning Medford police were notified of an armed robbery at the Meadow Glen Mall located at 3850 Mystic Valley Parkway. A suspect entered the mall & headed for Marcou Jewelers. The subject is said to be a male between 5'8"-5'11 with a full mask and was in possession of a sledge hammer despite scanner reports saying it was an axe. The subject entered the store & smashed one of the cases reached in-grabbed merchandise & fled out of the mall. State police have been called to the scene to assist with the track with a K9. The police are currently with security checking video footage. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
