Shortly before 1 AM on April 9th Canton PD tried to initiate a vehicle stop in their city. The operator failed to stop & took off leading a chase that ended in a car crash on Washington Street in Norwood. The subject did flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by officers. Norfolk county sheriff K9 unit also assisted at the scene. The subject was transported to an area hospital with injuries from the incident & later transported to the police station on booking on charges relevant to the incident.

Occupy MBTA sets up shop at the state house
During the afternoon of April 8th; a group of people gathered on the steps of the state house on Beacon Hill to protest the MBTA fare hikes & service cuts proposal. Crowd was small in nature but an MSP detail was assigned due to the potential security threat that may have been posed due to the security of the building.

Buffalo NY: Fire in a church. 3 alarms sounded
Just before 6 pm this afternoon; Buffalo firefighters answered the call for a fire in a church at Tacoma & Colvin Avenues. Upon arrival the 2nd & 3rd alarms were sounded in rapid succession. Their was an unconfirmed report of mayday inside but it turned out to be an accidental trigger of the emergency button. All companies are heavily engaged at the scene.
Update: 6:25 PM: Firefighters continuing an aggressive interior attack. A member of rescue 1 was injured at the scene. A mayday was NOT transmitted. Injuries are not yet known. Fire starting to vent thru the roof. Multi hand lines are in operation and a deck gun is being put into operation.
Update: 6:35 PM: Ceilings being opened on floors 2 & 3. very heavy smoke conditions throughout the structure. Sounds like it's a 4 story church. Fire starting to extend into the steeple area.
Update: 7:02 PM: Command placing the fire under control. Crews continuing extensive overhaul operations.

Fatal pedestrian accident in Lynn
Around 11 AM this morning first responders responded to the Lynnway near #808 for reports of an accident involving a pedestrian. Once at the scene crews had an 80 year old male victim that had been struck in between the left 2 lanes center lanes for the 3 lane roadway in serious condition. A med-flight rescue helicopter was summonsed to the scene then was cancelled. The victim was transported to the Union Hospital in Lynn where he was pronounced dead.
Spokesman Sean Lewis with the State Police stated in a press release:
The man was among a group of pedestrians attempting to cross the roadway from the center median near 808 Lynnway at about 11 a.m. Saturday.
Adriana Ribeiro, a 37-year-old Swampscott woman, stopped her Land Rover to let the group cross, But when the group of pedestrians got to the middle of the three-lane road, a 22-year-old Somerville woman failed to stop, and the 2000 Nissan Altima she was driving struck the Boston man.
The release also said Guerbie Gilles, the Altima driver, was transported to Lynn Union Hospital along with the Boston man. They did not release his name and did not mention on any injures Gilles may have sustained in the incident.
While police investigated the crash, they closed the third and second travel lanes on the southbound Lynnway for about two hours.

Firefighters battle early evening brush fire in Lynn
Once again early yesterday evening April the 13th firefighters converged on 810 Lynnway for a reported brush fire. Upon arrival engine companies reported an extensive area of roughly 2-3 acres going at the site of the former Harbour House Hotel. District Chief Jim McDonald stated that companies remained on the scene for close to 2.5 hours while they doused hot spots. He also stated that despite the small amount of rain that was received in the recent day was of little help & the threat remains significant.

Waterbury Connecticut mill fire
Around 5:30 yesterday afternoon numerous firefighters descended upon East Liberty & Mill Streets in Waterbury Connecticut and battled a blaze at a vacant mill complex formerly the Nova Dye and Print factory. The building was approximately 1 block long by 1 block wide and 4 stories tall. There was a pancake type collapse in the rear. Numerous hand lines & master streams were in operation & took several hours to knock down the heavy volume of fire. Firefighters remained on the scene throughout the night and into the morning hours dousing hot spots.
Bomb Threat at Springfield nightclub
Around 11 PM last night the Springfield police and fire departments responded to the Hippodrome night club on Main Street for a report of a bomb threat received via telephone from the Burger King on State St. Officers were subsequently dispatched to that location & were unable to locate the caller. Police and fire officials did search the building & came up empty handed. Evacuations were not ordered of the club and the event scheduled continued without any interruptions.
