Lawrence crash sends 2 with serious injuries to hospital after striking a pole and bursting into flames
Around 10 PM last night Lawrence police and fire raced to the intersection of Haverhill St by Morton St for reports of a vehicle that had struck a pole and caught fire. Radio transmissions indicated that 1 was ejected during the impact and another was trapped inside the vehicle. Preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed down Haverhill Street when the driver lost control struck a utility pole, shearing it in half and travelled roughly 200 yards finally coming to rest against a food truck that was parked. The Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team was called in and assisted Lawrence police with the investigation. The identities of the occupants of the vehicle have not been released at this time.
