Just before 3 AM this morning, firefighters from across the Merrimack Valley responded to 70/72 Berkeley St in Lawrence for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival of engine 7 they reported heavy fire showing from a 2.5 story 2 family home and immediately ordered the 2nd alarm. The 3rd alarm was soon ordered as the home became fully engulfed and defensive ops were ordered. The home is completely gutted and sent 10 residents racing into the cold early morning temperatures. 1 resident and 1 firefighter were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
